Appeal to chose godly candidates in 2016

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate’…” (Jesus, our God and Savior, in Mark 10:7-9, the Holy Bible).

THANK GOD FOR OUR 35TH ANNIVERSARY: I sincerely thank God, in the Name of Jesus, that, once more, He allowed me, my wife Angelina (the former Paranaque City judge), and our daughter Maria Luisa, now a graduating student of the UP College of Law come June 2015, God willing, to savor another wedding anniversary, which is our 35th. Praise Jesus, our God and Savior, who is God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

GUIDELINES ON WHO TO VOTE FOR: REPOST FROM 2012: Here is an updated repost from October 01, 2012, which I consider very timely and important in view of the upcoming 2016 presidential elections, to educate our people on who to vote for. Read on:

“And so, officially, (the election fever for 2016) has started... The deadline for the filing of these certificates is (upcoming) as the Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced. Now more than ever, we need to know the guidelines that all of us must follow in electing this country’s new set of officers.

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THE SPIRIT OF GOD IN THEM: The first guideline is: we must elect a candidate in whom the Spirit of God dwells. It is only the candidate in whom the Spirit of God dwells who has the fear and love of God that will allow him to discharge his duties and responsibilities as an elected official according to God’s commands, and who will be restrained from stealing and abusing.

The second guideline is: we must elect candidates who are able and knowledgeable of the jobs they are aspiring for, and those who hate dishonest gain, and have fear and love of God. These candidates will surely produce good results once they are elected, and will uphold the interests of God, country, and people, all throughout.

The third guideline is: we must elect candidates who are willing to be the slaves---literally and figuratively---of the people and their constituents. Too many candidates have acted like kings and queens of the people they have sworn to serve, so that they have upheld only their own personal and political interests once they got elected.

BASES FOR GUIDELINES IN CHOOSING CANDIDATES: The first guideline is taken from Genesis 41:38 of the Bible, where the Pharaoh of Egypt was looking for a man who would save his country from destruction as a result of a seven-year famine that Joseph, son of Jacob, warned about.

The second guideline is taken from Exodus 18:21, where Jethro was telling his son-in-law Moses about who he should install as leaders of the people. The third guideline comes from Mark 10:43-44, where Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, was telling John and James, the sons of Zebedee, what a leader should do, according to the will of the Father.

APPEAL TO CHOSE GODLY CANDIDATES IN 2016: I am making an appeal to all Filipinos who have nowhere else to go, who have been poor all their lives, who have not experienced the bounties of life: we must choose candidates who display the foregoing guidelines. This is the only way to end our sufferings, our poverty, and the injustices against us, as well as the corruption among politicians.
