LIFE’ S INSPIRATIONS: “…So Pharaoh asked them, `Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?’…” (Genesis 41:38, the Holy Bible).

CHOOSING GOD LEADERS FOR RP: Filipinos should be glad that there are influential groups which are even now trying to push an agenda of choosing the leaders our country really needs during the 2016 presidential elections. Indeed, if we want some really beneficial changes to occur in the Philippines, good leaders must be chosen and voted into office, real soon.
So, saying “thank you” is in order for Rappler, an online news agency, and its partners from the Building an Inclusive Democracy Consortium, composed of the De La Salle University College of Liberal Arts, Asian Institute of Management RN Policy Center, Ateneo de Manila School of Government, and the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration.
I am sure their forum on May 12, 2015 at the Natividad de Fajardo Auditorim at the De La Salle University in Manila, with a battery of intellectual speakers like former Economic Planning Secretary Solita Monsod, Akbayan Party List Rep. Walden Bello, UP Prof. Leonor Briones and Maria Ressa, Rappler CEO and Executive Editor participating, will establish guidelines which our people can use to choose good leaders.

WHO IS A GOOD LEADER FOR RP? But, really, what are the guidelines so that someone can be considered as a good leader---one who would be able to fight off the gripping poverty of our people and the stifling corruption that is so pervasive in government and among the rich and the influential in the private sector?
Monsod, Bello, Briones and Ressa, surely, will be able to come up with a lot of qualities and qualifications that can make one a good leader, but, isn’t it a fact that there are now many Filipinos who have the requisite qualities and qualifications to become a good leader yet are unable to solve the economic deprivation of many Filipinos, and are unable to stop corruption in the private and in the public sectors?
So what do our leaders lack to enable them to become good officials and managers if they are already possessed of the requisite qualities and qualifications? If I may venture a view, our leaders need to have one more quality and qualification, and that is being spiritual and God-fearing and God-loving, with the ability to read and study the Bible all the time and be obedient to His commands.

A GOOD LEADER HAS THE SPIRIT OF GOD IN HIM: A leader who is truly and truthfully tutored and disciplined in the Word of God in the Bible will have the Spirit of God in him. And because he has the Spirit of God in him, he will know that wealth and riches, particularly those illegally obtained, will not buy for him an eternal stay in this world, and that despite amassing great riches, he will still die someday and leave everything behind.
A leader who has the Spirit of God in him will know that the real key to economic prosperity is allowing the people to realize that they can become prosperous and successful only by knowing God’s commands and obeying them fully and sincerely. A leader who has the Spirit of God in him will know that no man can ever help his fellow men but that true help can only come from God.
This is the leader that we should look for. We do not need highly learned men and women. We do not need popular personalities. We do not need movie actors nor police or military officers. We do not need those who harbor too much love for themselves. We need men who are humble enough to know that only God can make things beautiful. These are the men who should be leading us now.
